Masters Games in May

Sport and lots of after-hours entertainmeent sums up the WestNet Indian Ocean Masters Games in Geraldton (Western Australia) this May. 28 sports over nine days in one of the most beautiful parts of the world.

April 8, 2004--In May, Geraldton (Western Australia) hosts a special event - the 2004 WestNet Indian Ocean Masters Games.

The WestNet Games have attracted international as well interstate interest and will feature 28 team and individual sports over nine days of competition from May 1-9.

Organisers have also planned a detailed social calendar with something on every night. This program includes a Talent (and not-so-talented) Quest, a series of ‘60s/70s nights and a traditional surf club dance (with live band) at the local Surf Club.

Other functions are also planned and Games participants will have free entry to almost every event.

Geraldton is the hub of the Mid West, a region rich in history (such as the wonderfully preserved 19th century hamlet of Greenough or the remains of the convict settlement at Port Gregory.

Then there are the natural attractions such as the amazing Abrolhos Islands, the Kalbarri Gorges and our unspoilt beaches and, getting back to the sport, few places in Australia have better facilities for sport than here.
