Why not sports, inc. Announces its line-up and schedule for its 2004 Sports Career Expo SM at Super Bowl XXXVIII

Professional Athletes and Executives Affiliated With the Sports Industry Will Participate

Why Not Sports, Inc. announced today the schedule and participants for the Sports Career Expo. Held during Super Bowl Week in Houston, The Expo is a distinctive one-day sports career conference for high school students designed to enlighten them on athletic and non-athletic sports career options. It will be held January 29 at the University of Houston’s Houston Room in the University Center located at 210 University Center. The program will last from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm and will include a series of workshops, panel discussions, a college fair and a keynote address from Kellen Winslow, San Diego Chargers - NFL Hall of Famer. Admission to the event is free to students and the general public.

ATLANTA, GA; March 08 2004--Why Not Sports, Inc. announced today the schedule and participants for the Sports Career Expo. Held during Super Bowl Week in Houston, The Expo is a distinctive one-day sports career conference for high school students designed to enlighten them on athletic and non-athletic sports career options. It will be held January 29 at the University of Houston’s Houston Room in the University Center located at 210 University Center. Admission to the event is free to students and the general public.

As the signature event for Why Not Sports, the Expo is a way r for student-athletes living in the host city to catch a glimpse of a high profile sporting event such as Super Bowl XXXVIII. More than 500 student-athletes from several Houston metropolitan area school districts will attend the event. While there, they will be exposed to many professional athletes and sports industry executives that will encourage them and speak on the many opportunities available to enter into a sports-related career, on and off the playing field.

“We are very excited to have our students participate in the Sports Career Expo,” said Daryl Wade, athletic director of the Aldine Independent School District. “Many of our student athletes dream of a career in sports. The Expo will provide them an opportunity to hear about and actually meet people in the industry in careers they may never have considered before.”

The panel discussions will allow attendees to ask questions and hear success stories from confirmed contributors from well-known companies and organizations such as Nike, Inc., Gatorade, the NFL and the WNBA. Confirmed athletes include Joe Johnson (Green Bay Packers), Dhani Jones (New York Giants), Michael Lewis (New Orleans Saints) and Kelley Gibson and Cynthia Cooper (Houston Comets).
