`MAN OF 1,000 FACES' ADDS ONE MORE `BAD BOY' SADDAM HUSSEIN

Joe Trammel aka "The Man of a 1,000 Faces" who emcees and performs in "Crazy Girls" at the Riviera Hotel and Casino recently added one more character to his repertoire --- Saddam Hussein to the music of "Cops" --- "bad boy, bad boy what you gonna do when we come for you."

The audience applauds wildly as Joe runs across the stage but there about 45-50 more characters that you will experience during his 15-minute act.

He said, "`Crazy Girls' has been around for over 15 years and I'm the first man to ever be in it. I emcee the show and perform my `Man of 1,000 Faces' act. It's great because I'm universal. It's purely physical comedy. I only talk when I emcee the show."

The Phoenix native is from a show business family. His mother was a dancer in the "Folies Bergere" and entertained in a show in Hawaii. She was an act with Wayne Newton. She also performed as a dancer in the movie "Bus Stop." His mother Glenda Trammel ran a dance school in Phoenix. He said, "I was weaned on dancing. She danced up until she was six months pregnant with me. She did the movie about the `Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders' for TV. She was from the disco era and was a spotlight dancer on `Dick Clark's American Bandstand.' I live in Henderson at Calico Ridge and love it out there."

Trammel said, "What I do is visual comedy. He would spoof popular songs of that era and culture. I do that now in a more modern way. I come from the same school as Andy Kaufman. I like to try something different. Jim Carey is another one who does my kind of thing on a grand scale. Every producer that I've worked for has given me really good input. I've improved so much over the years. The LA Times said, `Look out Carrot Top,"

Trammel said, "I moved to Las Vegas in 1994 after working in Reno for a couple of years working in `Splash.' They moved me to Las Vegas' `Splash.' My act is pop culture and international. The movies I spoof are all over the world. `Crouched Tiger, Hidden Dragon' was in Mandarin but was a hit all over the world because it was visual. I haven't seen as many Asians as usual but by the time the entire act is over we are having fun."

Show times for "Crazy Girls" are at 9 p.m. from Friday thru Wednesday nights. The showroom is dark on Thursday nights. Tickets are $29.95 plus tax and fee.
