8/28/2003 August 28, 2003 Casino Adds New Characters, Days to Popular ‘Dealertainers' Line-Up
LAS VEGAS, NEV. -- The Imperial Palace Hotel & Casino, the home of celebrity impersonation shows, is expanding its popular Legends Pit by adding new Dealertainers and more days.
"The Dealertainers have been a bigger success than we imagined," said Craig Garland, casino manager for the hotel. "We have a number of guests who ask about the Dealertainers and are disappointed when we have to tell them they only work Thursday through Sunday."
The Legends Pit opened in late June with the first time celebrity impersonators being utilized as dealers on the casino floor. Each of the Dealertainers must go through the hotel's own dealer's school, and several new characters are currently training to work the new nights, which are Monday through Wednesday from 6 p.m. - 4 a.m.
Original characters Elvis, The Blues Brothers, Madonna, Rod Stewart, Barbra Streisand, Marilyn Monroe, Elton John, Patsy Cline, El Zorro, Ray Charles and Buddy Holly will be joined by new characters Groucho Marx, Janet Jackson, Roy Orbison, Bette Midler, Dolly Parton, Liberace, May West, Ritchie Valens, and Cher when the Legends Pit expands on September 1. The Dealertainers are a natural progression for the Imperial Palace as the hotel has hosted the original celebrity tribute spectacular "Legends In Concert" for the past 20 years.
The Imperial Palace also hosts The Auto Collections. The resort is famous for "five-star-friendly" service; an industry-respected sports and race book; 2,700 comfortable rooms and suites; world-class gaming and amenities; a seasonal poolside "Luau;" 35,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space; 10 specialty restaurants; 10 cocktail lounges; spa and fitness center; business center; independent on-site medical center and a wedding chapel.
